I have tried sizzling food from few places since its not very common in Sri Lanka. But the last time when i visited i noticed the quality of the food has dropped along with the service. Im sure this with the business of the place. But you guys need to understand the quality of the food and the better service you give means you get proper steady customers. I always did like the Sizzling Chocolate Biscuit Pudding they have I still love it. Yes, we had some difficult times in the recent past with some of our experienced staff leaving without due notice. We had to cope up with employing new staff and train them in express training methods. We are happy to inform that we have been able to get ourself on track again.
And this time with additional extra staff so as to not to repeat such incident. We are confident that we will be able to upgrade our service standard too. Not very impressed with the table service. But the customer service was very poor. There were no waiters to take the order. They were only interested to chat with each other. Yes, you would have felt that the staff at the reception who were close to your table were neglecting to take down your order.
The reception staff were the new recruits who did not know about the menu or taking orders and would not have been right for them to serve you. It was best that one of the experienced staff would take your order. After reading your comment we have decided to move the reception counter away from the front tables, so that the walk in guests will not disturb the diners seated at the front tables and thereby the reception staff will be away from the customers dining area.

Went to this restaurant on a week day and was not given a table. I have a feeling if you cant fill up all the seats at the table they don't want your business. True, due to the International school holidays coming to an end and many Sri Lankan expats who have arrived to Sri Lanka are preparing to return to their country next week, we have had enormous crowd during this past week.
Even the weekdays were packed with reservations and we were left with very limited seats for walk in guests. For walk in guests if we can identify a table which would be falling vacant in like 30 to 45 minutes we would suggest that to the respective walk in customers, and also while waiting we would take their meal orders and place them to the kitchen.
So that by the time the table is available, the meals also will be ready to serve. We try our best to accommodate as many guests as possible without disappointing the walk in guests. Propably msg on sauces. I would say that this an average place to dine nothing much to rave about.

During the past week we have had too many reservations and even weekdays were packed with a lot of reservations.
It is because the International school holidays are ending this week and also there are a lot of Sri Lankan expats who have arrived for their summer vacation and will be returning back next week, as must be in your friends case too. We try our best to accommodate as many walk in guests as possible instead of saying that "Only for Reservations". Based on the arrival time of the walk in guests we would see if we can accommodate the walk in guests on a reserved table if the reservation is at a later time. However, we need to ensure that the guests who have reserved should not be left waiting at our doorstep when they arrive at their reserved time.
Yes, there are many days that we also feel sad that we are not able to accommodate as many guests and have to turn them away and request them to reserve next time. Very sorry for your disappointment. Tushar Amalean.
